I am a first time mom, I was curious if you could mix formula and breast milk together.

  • You CAN. But baby might not like it much. Be prepared.

The real risk of mixing is that of baby refuses the mix, you've wasted the breastmilk which is so hard-won through pumping.

  • Ditto what Gdiamante said, baby could deny it and its a waste of BM. Better to pump some more and give them all BM.

  • Yes, it's fine. You could just do a bottle of each or make formula then add breastmilk. It's up to you. Or alternate feedings. Not sure you situation, so whatever works best.

  • i did for awhile, well i alternated feedings not actually MIXED but my son loved the BM bottles and the formula took awhile to get him used to.
