Can you use the Maxi Cosi Infant seat on American Airlines without the base?

I've been googling for a while and can't find any info on whether this is allowed....I will call the airline tomorrow to be sure, just wondering if anyone knows off the bat. Thanks!

  • I don't know what kind that is exactly, but we used our Graco car seat on a Southwest airline without the base. I don't think there are rules on using a base or not... just if your child's 2 years and older you pay for a seat mandatory and if not it's your choice to purchase one or put baby on lap.

  • I have a Maxi cosi and though I never flew with it, you can strap it in the car without the base so I don't see why not.
