Do you want the big wigs on the hill to have the same insurance as we do?

See this from US Rep John Fleming of Louisiana

Congressman John Fleming (Louisiana physician) has proposed an
amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the
same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation
they are curiously exempt). Congressman Fleming is encouraging
people to go on his Website and sign his petition (very simple -just
first, last and email). I have immediately done just that at:
http://fleming.house.gov/ .. Please urge as many people as you can to
do the same! If Congress forces this on the American people, the
Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for
themselves and their families.
Wish he'd included SS and medicare for the representatives!

  • Yeah isn't it ironic that they are exempt? Also the unions are exempt.Yet some praise this plan (without even reading it I might add) and tell us all how great it would be! They won't take it for themselves and their famlies though...hmmm

  • LOL!!!! Forcing politicians to HAVE to pick up the proposed ObamaCare plan, would be like forcing a man to give birth!!! After the first "twinge" they'd want to jump off a bridge!!! LOL ;o)

  • I honestly do not believe they'd actually have the same thing even if they put it in there.

  • Even the average citizen will not have the "same" coverage. There are levels of coverage - premium and standard. Who decides who gets teh premium with all the bells and whistles and who gets the standard which offers just a baseline standard of care? I bet the members of Congress would get the Premium!

  • I am VERY skeptical of this. Senator Coburn OK has a similar plan and several democrats including Ted Kennedy have jumped on board. Why is that?  Here is a link to that article.

But yes, I do think they should have to be on it.  If not that, then why aren't they on Tricare like our troops are?

  • Online petitions will not do anything to change something. Sad that people who represent us in D.C do not know that.
