Baptism gift?

My friend's little girl is getting baptized (baptised?) in about a month and I was wondering if people give gifts for this sort of thing? If so, what is an appropriate gift?

  • I like to give a small cross - for the last one we went to I found a pewter cross with a nice verse and space for the name to be engraved.

also found at costco a book of babys first prayers.

  • Some do, some dont.

I never really got anything except some money from my grandparents.
My sisters girl didnt get anything from anyone(except a new dress LOL).

If you want to, then go for it but I dont think you should feel obligated to do so.

Maybe find a pretty bookmark for her bible.

  • I can only speak for how my family does it. They're roman catholic (I'm atheist). In our family the godparents are the ones to buy the religious jewlery and the extended family usually does savings bonds.
