writting own rec letter

Have you ever had to do this? i am moving out of state, one of the docs tonight told me if I ever needed recs to write the letter and he would sighn it in a heart beat. I feel kinda weird tooting my own horn, but I acctually was going to ask him for one so I just wrote it. It seems weird. :)~

  • Yeah-- I had to do it when I applied for grad school. The reason is that you know what the hiring person may want to know about, so you know what strengths to play up. The signer won't sign something that they don't agree with, so you're pretty safe.

It did feel weird to me, too!
