Any ideas for a cheap birthday party for a 14 year old in September?

My son wants to have a birthday for a lot of his friends, but our house is to small. What would be a fun cheap birthday party for a boy turning 14?

  • One year we set up several tv's with different video game systems (some borrowed from friends), in our family room and basically had an arcade birthday party. I popped popcorn, scattered candy around on the tables, served hot dogs, chips and soda, and the kids all had a great time.....they even had this kind of party again!!

  • We have had small cookouts at the park---hot dogs/hamburgers, chips, and kool-aid. We took all kinds of sports balls---basketballs, foot balls and soccer balls. The kids got different games going on their own, took a break to eat and have cake. The way the weather is going you could even do water balloons. I think this year for my son's 16th b-day we might be doing a camp out.
