What does once and forever mean in this email?

I hate this, i hate myself, I hate to do this to you.

I just wanna create a place of happiness we can all live in. It doesn't matter where or when.

I love you so much. Im sorry about all of this, I will think of you forever.

I need to get out of this mess. Now I have no one to help me. But, its OK, that's the way, it seems, it always has been.

To you, once and forever,

  • I broke up with him...he is always drunk and I got tired of it. I told him that I would support him if he decided to quit for good.

  • Maybe he meant always and forever but was too drunk to remember the phrase?

  • He hasnt been sober for the past week besides at work.

  • he probably doesn't even know what he means by it. It makes no sense. I think Kirsty is right, he's so drunk he got the phrase wrong. He may have meant Now and Forever or Always and Forever...looks like you made the right choice to dump this guy

  • Sounds like a ploy to get you to come back to me....
Guilt triip saying I hate that I'm in this mess, I hate that I hurt you, I just wanted a place where everyone could be happy (yea let me know when he finds it), the only one that wanted to help me was you and now you're gone... poor poor me.
So... here's what I'd do. I'd get him some AA information (websites and local groups) and tell him there's millions of members of that group all over the country that would be there for him.
Once and Forever just sounds like his original way of saying I loved you once and I will forever.
