  • It's not too early to introduce play doh! Water play is great too! Just give him some water , things that float and sink, take it outside and let him "paint" the cement with the water. How about bubbles? Give him lots of free form play not so much games. Cars, trucks, little people or action figures. Are you comfortable with letting him play with your spoons and pots and bowls etc. in the kitchen? Soft balls you can roll back and forth and toss. Make some targets or "pins" to knock down out of cereal boxes or plastic cups. Don't feel you have to entertain him every minute of the day. Let him play alone sometimes. Wait to see if he includes you and follow his lead! Children learn to work out things through play. So be there if he needs help but don't jump to show him the "right" way to play. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much he already knows and how much he can and will do for himself! Enjoy the time!
