  • 12 cups of water through the filter with a few tablespoons of vinegar.
Then flush it out with another pot of water.

  • Run some vinegar through it, works like a charm! Mine's a 4 cup, I use 1 cup vinegar and 3 cups water through it. then just run a pot of water through to rinse.

  • Run plain white vinegar through the pot; you will need to run plain water through the system several times

  • If you find that there're still crusty mineral deposits visible after running vinegar through it, you can soak some cotton balls or paper towels with vinegar and just sit them on top of the crusty stuff for an hour or two. That should loosen up any remaining deposits.
