Do you think your religion has the right to run our country? Do you feel your religion should be the one and only in America, (or name your country), and that all others should be prosecuted, and made to change?
I've seen some people that seem to think this way, and it's disturbing to say the least.
In answer to the question...I think a theocracy would be disastrous.
On a side note, sometimes when people claim America was founded upon religion (namely Christianity) their reasoning is it's because the Declaration of In. mentions God. But the Declaration was written before the establishment of our lawful government, the U.S. Constitution, which states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
It's also important to note the Treaty of Tripoli, written at the end of Washington's last term in 1796.
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen..." it goes on further, but you can get the picture.
