Can someone please explain what this means in the health care bill?

"The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax imposed by this chapter. ..."
page 203, line 13

  • Sounds like typical government "doublespeak" to me!!!


    Or it's a tax separate of the main tax mentioned in the chapter.... like a tax to second power?!?

  • It means that they are two separate taxes, and one doesn't cancel out the other.

    Sure :o) But You aren't suppose to figure it out. They write to purposefully confuse. IMO, That is why Dems wanted to pass this so quickly before the August Break.  But you need to write your Congressmen and women, attend town halls and ask these questions.

  • There are a hundred references to different laws and codes in the bill. It's going to take weeks for us to sort them all out. And grly, by not treating a tax as a tax I believe it makes it less accountable to the general public.More budgets to keep track of.
