  • They probably want to make sure you are not under in the system already under a different name. My ex sil was doing that until they did fingerprinting in our area. She had three welfare accounts. Two under deceased aunts names and one in her own. She was getting a lot of cash assistance, free housing and she got 2k in food stamps between all three names. She went in and found they had the new system she still tried to cheat it thinking they did not compare prints. They did and she got a letter stating she was banned for life from welfare, food stamps and WIC. She amazingly got a good paying job and supports her kids just fine. I think it is a great idea to take prints and even drug test. I have to get a drug test when I start a new job why not randomly test those that make a living off the state?

  • ??? I think you MAY be referring to why they stick your finger for a blood test? I received WIC for my daughter for a year after I left my ex and they had to prove she was at "nutritional risk." One way to do this was to check her hemaglobin (iron) levels which they do from a finger stick.

  • I would miss my fingertips, and I imagine that this would be pretty painful.

    What do they really do?
