  • I am not trying to be bitchy or nasty. But you have to remember ALL babies do thing at their own pace. Unless your niece is 6 months old and only weighs 5 pounds or something give the mom a break. As far as sitting up goes again ALL babies are different. If your niece goes to the dr they will worry about all those things.

  • The normal weight for MY 9 month olds was 23 and 24lbs. They were 20 and 22lb babies at 6 months. But that was normal for my kids.

That was not normal for my nieces and nephew.

It was not normal for my friends' kids.

They all follow their own growth curve.

  • No I wasnt being rude. You didnt give us her birth weight or her height or the percentiles she falls into. All you want is a comparison between your kid and your niece so give the mom a break.

  • All babies are different. Some are big and tall some are short and skinny. I'm not sure there is a 'normal' Just as long as the height and wright are with in the same percentile and they are growing at a steady pace I think that's all they are looking for. My DD is 20 pounds and 19 months she is very small but growing so no worries. My friends DD is 18 months and 30 pounds, but very tall. No worries there either.
