Baby shower invites

I am having a baby shower-girl and I am looking for creative ways for the invites. I want something special and unique but not sure how to do that. Any idea's? I was thinking of making them with special paper or should I go buy them at the store?

  • You can get great ideas by "Google"-ing! hehe (I love doing that! lol) Once you've found a design you like, you can just make it yourself - that's what I do to save costs and add special touches of my own. Thinking outside of the box invitations can be something like a chinese take out box, or using your ultrasound picture as the front cover of the invitation, or even sending out a small baby doll with the invitation details on its diaper or back of a baby shirt. =)p Also the theme you want can dictate what the invitation will look like as well. =)

  • From working in a craft store--I have seen people spend a lot of money to make invitations and I know that it would be cheaper to buy them and put them through the printer. Just make sure that cost isn't an issue when you get started. I hope you have fun.

  • for my fist baby shower, i found super cute blank notecards with envelopes on clearance at target, and then got a rubber stamp with "you are invited, yadda yadda yadda" stuff on it. it was cute and something i felt i could use again for other occasions. then i stamped the inside of each card and filled it out. it was cheaper for me to do that since i have picky taste, and the only invites i liked that didn't look cheesy were expensive.

  • Go Check out your local hobby store/scrapbooking store and see if they have die cut machines with any templates that would be cute. Often times, if you buy the paper, they'll let you use the machines for free. I saw one at a store near me that was a die cut for a diaper...you just cut the paper, fold and glue it to the card and it is a "diaper pocket" Then you can put a little card in the pocket with all the info. on it....or use the pocket to put registry cards in, etc. They also often have cute frames, and other cut outs (diaper pins, baby rattles, baby blocks, etc.) you can cut out of paper.
