Do you think they are afraid of the people?

Just heard on Fox that Murtha has said he cannot see a health care package being passed and that he told Pelosi the same. Think they are afraid of the People?

  • I hope so. I think the protests at the town hall meetings have shown them that there is a great uneasiness about the bill as it is presently written, and that they have to go back to the drawing board and put together something that is more tightly crafted to safeguard everyone's rights before they try to shove it down our throats.
We all want health care reform, but not the way this is written.
We don't trust our government any longer.
Those of us who have been around for 40+ years know better than to believe they always have our best interests in mind.

  • If anything they are afraid that their voters will support someone else the next time around. I doubt very highly that they are actually 'afraid' of the people.

  • I think they are genuinely SURPRISED at the reaction of the people! LOL Too many of them have lived in their little political bubbles for too long as "limousine liberals" and are sooooooo out of touch with the very people they claim to represent, that it's very clear they don't know how to handle it--hence the accusations of "swastika wearers," "elderly mobs" and "astroturfing!" LOL

We see it on here EVERYDAY....when you fail to win your argument, the name calling and patronizing begins! :o)

  • If they aren't they should be. I'm sure they never expected this from regular Americans. Thats why they keep insisting it is an orchestrated thing. LOL

  • That's the fun part. They can deny til they're blue in the face and tell the public that it's nothing but "extremists" protesting them, even if there are interviews with normal, everyday people in every paper in the country saying otherwise. But in their own minds, and in their own campaign bank accounts, they cannot deny the truth.
