tmi about my sons poop

he is a month old... he was on parents choice formula and had the neon mustardy poops and yesterday we switched him to good start and he acts like he likes it a lot more but now his poop stinks so bad and is dark green... is that normal when you change formula or what.... this is my first child so i had no clue and sorry for the graphic detail just have no other way of discribing it...

  • ok im not even going to fool with being anon.. im the one that posted this and look i tried to breastfeed so shut the hell up it didnt work... god i hate people on this site... after this question gets answered im done on here. if i wanted to know if breast feeding was the right thing to do i would have asked that question but unless u can help me with my sons poop then dont write anything.

  • it's probably normal. the switches could've just upset his bowels a little bit and might give him gas, too.

  • my son is on good start and his poop ranges in color from a dark green brownish aste to almost a blueish color with yellow in it. now that he is teething it almost looks like hes breastfed again bt a little more orange. hes on solids too so thats why it has a range but the color seems normal. as long as hes not wicked gassy or uncomforable or black and hard its healthy and normal. if your still concerned take it up with your pediatrician tho.

  • oh yeah and as for hard core breast feeders ignore them. yes breast is best but some people cant. it just shows their ignorance. i breast fed and had to give it up due to excema. a friend had post pardum cardiac myopathy and couldnt do it because of the drugs. and for some people it just doesnt work. i support all people who love their child no matter how the feed sleep carry ect ect ect. just ignore them or report them.
