The right kind of lights?

Okay, so I can't afford actual studio lights because I'm not a professional. But, I take my son's portraits and I need better lighting. So, I have two lamps that have a reading lamp along with it and it will provide the right amount of light so there are no shadows (I'm pretty sure, anyway), but I don't know which bulbs to buy that are bright enough, but natural lighting, not yellow or orange. White or slightly blue is okay because I can fix that with no problem.

  • We have 3 lamps with the UV flourescent bulbs in them, the kind they use in plant lighting and fish tanks. Those seem to give TRUE light, and is most natural to the sun's coloring.
