  • We give an opportunity to accept Christ at every service. And then after you receive the Lord as your savior we have "New Believers" classes to teach the basics.

Conversion takes but a moment, just asking God to forgive you and be your Lord and Savior. Growth takes a lifetime : )

  • Missionaries teach people lessons outside of church who are interested in learning about our faith or converting - they go over our basic beliefs and invite people to do their own study and prayer about it.

During church there is a special sunday school class called "gospel essentials" which goes over basic doctrines. Long time members will go frequently for a review, and new members and those just learning about our faith usually go to this class.

  • we're inbetween churches currently, so i can't speak w/authority for the presbyterian church that we've been attending, although i'm fairly certain all we have to do is tell the pastor(s) what our intent is for joining, have a little talk, and be presented before the congregation. after that, i'm not sure what they would have in store for us, as new congregants. (i've done some basic researching online myself.)
in some of my former churches/childhood-adulthood (free will baptist/first baptist), they asked that before you joined, you took some 'get to know us' classes, to familiarize the 'would-be new member' with the church's doctrine/treaties/expectations/mission statements, etc. it was a requirement in only one of them, not all. some just welcomed the new member in, no questions asked.
i think, like any organization, its smart to know what you're getting into, before you sign on the dotted line.

  • We don't have conversion classes. Like Cinn said you convert or accept Christ instantly. We do have membership classes for those who want to join our church.
