  • A bedtime routine can be very helpful. A warm bath, followed with a massage with lavender lotion and some lullabies. Try to keep the lites low and everything calm through out the nite and during feedings. I hope that helps.

  • Try feeding your baby some cereal mixed in with your breast milk. Baby may be hungry. It will actually help your baby sleep through the night.

  • You really need more information... Do you cosleep, has he started solids recently? Growth spurt? Has he just now stared to "not sleep" or been like this since birth?

    * Rice in a bottle is a no no!

  • Is this new behavior? If so, he may be teething or having a growth spurt and he should return to his previous sleeping pattern once it's past.

Has he been like this since birth and you are ready for some solid sleep yourself? Sorry. The phrase "sleeps like a baby" is one of the world's biggest lies. Very few babies sleep through the night (5 hours or more in a row) before 5 months. Most don't sleep for 8 hours or more in a row until 8 months. Sleeping from bedtime until morning usually doesn't happen until after a year. Keep going to be early and try to nap when you can.

You can try feeding him some rice cereal shortly before bed but that trick is just an old wives tale... babies start sleeping for longer periods between 4 and 6 months and babies start eating cereal between 4 and 6 months. The two things just happen around the same time, one does not cause the other.
