If I wanted to be a christian what rules do I have to follow.

Where do I find these rules. I have been very confused on what parts of the bible are teaching stories and what parts are rules to follow.

  • hey :) We should go by the whole bible but its very hard so we all fall short... We ask Jesus to come into our hearts and forgive us of our sins and try our best to go by the bible and when we fall short we just ask God for forgiveness in Jesus name.. Thats it.. I hope i could help you...

  • Just two.

Love your God with all your heart, mind and soul. And Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

  • I was really trying to find out why some books of the bible are used more then others when it comes to what is a sin and what is not. Leviticus and Deuteronomy have a lot of rules, but they are found in the old testament why do they apply even though other parts of the old testament do not. Like having more then one wife or owning slaves. This issue confuses me a lot.

  • Harass all your gay friends and relatives until they stop speaking to you or convert, try to convert everyone you see, especially when they say they aren't interested, and make sure everyone knows you're better than they are. Do all that and you're a Christian.

  • Being a Christian isn't about following the rules of do's and don'ts.  It's more about your personal relationship with God.  However, if you're looking for some sort of guidance try reading Galatians 5:16-26.

  • If this was the case why do so many people preach to others about theirs sins and not about the relationship with God.

  • Kristi and momsc hit it nail on the head.

OT was fulfilled the Cross... basically what Kristi said covers it all . Its truly not about rules but a personal relationship. When we have a relationship with someone we want to do all we can to please and honor them. That is how it is with God. He knows at times you will fall short but He loves you anyway! All He wants is you and your precious heart, all He sees is YOU and His precious creation! He is all about Love for it was LOVE that died on the Cross and Grace was poured upon the World. He did say, It is finished and therefore it was! We need to live not by rules but by His Word , His Grace and Everlasting love! :-) Keep seeking Fireball and you will find Him, when you do.. a Fireball of the Power of His Love YOU will be! :-)
