If you are not Christian, do you get offended when people say "God bless you"?

I personally take it as a compliment that they are thinking about me and wishing me well.
What about you? What if it was Allah? or Budda?

  • I'm atheist and I feel the same. It's nice to hear someone cares :)

  • It is good will towards your fellow man, doesn't bother me....

  • It depends on the context in which it is said. If I sneeze and it is stated I take it as well wishes, etc. If it is said at the end of a heated "debate" I see it as being smug, condescending, and an underhanded attempt at trying to "win" the debate.

  • I feel uncomfortable when anyone offers me blessings for any reason.

  • My sister was in her college class and the girl in frnt of her sneezed...she said God Bless You, and my sister is NOT Christian, the girl flipped out and yelled at her, "Why would you say that? How do you know I even believe in God?" and just kinda went off from there. I thought that was odd almost as if the girl was trying to stand out for some reason.

  • It's all about intent.  Sometimes it's genuine sentiment and sometimes it is meant to be condescending.

  • Sometimes it's just something to say, just a habit, like when some one snezes.
