TMI! Please help!

Ok I have been getting constipated really bad and I do eat fiber foods and drink about a gallon of water a day. The thing is not helping too much. I took stool softners before and it did help but it gave me horrendous gas. How often should you take stool softners and also did anyone else get horrendous gas. I mean I literally could clear a room! LOL! But please give me any advice. Thanks.

  • can you eat spicy food like jalapenos? That's what I use. It's a natural for pushing waste out.

  • pregnancy = constipation

    iron in prenatals = constipation

    pregnant farts = room clearing

weigh yourself after you poop for a more accurate reading.

  • Even without stool softeners my farts since I got pregnant could clear a freaking stadium! LOL. I know I know, not very funny...but oh so true. Unfortunately, constipation is just part of pregnancy. Try eating something like chili or drinking really sweet grape juice (like Welches sp?). Those make me go pretty well, pregnant or not.

  • Ask OB about stool softeners and laxatives in pregnancy. Try coffee (1 cup of half caf ) that should do the trick almost as soon as you are done drinking it.
