  • They decided, for what I am sure is nothing but business reasons, to stop advertising with Glenn Beck. Their money, they can choose where to spend it and use it to support whomever they want. Maybe they have decided that they no longer want to support someone who has an audience who is fine with calling the president a person who hates white people. Whatever, it't their right.

You know, under that great arm of capitalism??? They are NOT stifling free speech, they are exorcising their own right to support whomever they want.
I LOVE how this has turned into some sort of attack on free speech. This is capitalism at its finest, all you conservative ladies. Glenn no longer fits what they feel is appropriate for their bottom line.............so, he's out.

It's not personal, it's just business.

    Stomping on free speech.....seriously? Please.

  • WalMart has pulled its advertising from Glenn Beck's show on Fox. So some people are calling for a boycott.

  • NO , they have used their freedom of speech. To pull advertisements from a show that you do not agree with is a good way to exercise your rights. Funding people who profit from lies and hate speech is not honorable, and for the first time I agree with Wal-Mart.

  • "They have sanctioned the removal of FREEDOM OF SPEECH. "

Advertisers have ALWAYS had the ability to sponsor whatever shows they want. But they also are keenly aware that what they choose to sponsor could have an impact on their corporate image, so generally they choose to go middle of the road.

They could have pulled their ads from Beck simply because they didn't like the new ad rates (which rise and fall regularly based on ratings). That's also their prerogative; after all, it's merely business.

  • I am anti Walmart and its way of business.
They come into towns and undercut competition by treating (economically) their employees poorly, thereby controlling labor costs. In the past, Walmart officials helped their employees secure PA to supplement their incomes and benefit packages.
Once Walmart becomes the only choice, all choice will be absent.
Supplies will go down, quality will decline, and prices will increase.

    Walmart practices are anti-American, imo.
