Did your baby triple his/her weight in the first year??

My son is 4lbs away from tripling his weight. He's only gained 1 pd in the last 2 1/2 months. He'll be a year in 2 weeks. Just wondering if most babies do or not.

  • None of my first three ever did - or even close. My youngest was 8 lbs, 1 oz at birth, he's 9 months and now 17 lbs - we'll see, but i doubt it.

  • well my LO was 6lbs6oz when we left the hospital. He's now 20 lbs. He's a big eater. but was also smaller at birth. i dont think that babies have to triple their weight, its all about being healthy. I mean what about those big babies, like 10-12 lbs.... really a 1yr old will weigh 36 lbs?? lol
