Baking meatballs

I always fry my meatballs but tonight I want to try baking them instead. Any tips, like how high the oven should be, how long, etc? Do I just put them in a pan with some cooking spray and let them be or do they need to be turned?

  • No need to turn them, and usually no need to use baking spray unless you are using very low fat beef. I bake mine at 350 for about 25 minutes for 1 1/2 inch diameter balls (until they are cooked all the way through and lightly browned on top) and then simmer in the sauce for a while.

  • Bake? Fry? Neither!

    Pop them in the gravy (sauce for most of you out there) and let'em simmer for a couple of hours. That's how my mom did it.
