My daughter is 4 1/2 months old and today when i was changing her diaper I noticed that her private was really really red and it looked wrinkled. She just started to sleep through the night so she has the same diaper one for 11 hrs. Any suggestions???

  • You should change her in the middle of the night or atleast make sure she has some kind of diaper cream on while sleeping to protect her from getting a rash. Put some Desitin on it. If it doesn't go away in a day or so call her doctor.

  • try not to put a diaper on her or move her to a pull up, don't put it on her until right at bed time, this will keep the skin dry... change her asap when she gets up... this will help her train herself to hold her bladder until morning... good luck

  • If she's sleeping through the night...you're doing great!!! Get yourself some vaseline or petroleum jelly and put a layer on her before you put on her last diaper of the day. It will create a barrier between her and the diaper so that she doesn't get chapped at night. (Mine has slept 11-12 hours at night since 8 weeks). Also, make sure she is good and dry before you do though...petroleum jelly will create a wetness barrier but it will also hold wetness in so make sure she has thoroughly dried from the wipes or the bath.

  • Give her some no diaper time during the day, to let her girlie bits breathe. Try some diaper rash cream (it may take more than one to find what works for her). For us, Boudreau's Butt Paste works best, but each tushie is different.
