How tall are Cosmos plants supposed to get?

I planted a bunch of them from seed last spring, and I love them, they are so pretty, all colors. BUT they are taller than my head! I thought they were supposed to be like 3-4 feet tall. I'm not griping, but I never heard of this. They are on the east side of the house up against the outside wall where they get morning sun.

  • they can get up to 6 ft tall. you can always cut them back though and they will become more bushier and be more full rather than tall and spindly. i love cosmos too, and they so easily reseed themselves.
