  • Has she just not taken to them?

  • Mine didn't really like eating solids until about 13 months. It was frustrating even feeding her stage 3 foods. We had to start with Gerber and then move to BeechNut. Gerber's stage 3 is softer and smaller pieces, Beech Nut prepares before table food. So I guess the moral of this rant is, what until she/he is ready just keep trying.

  • Just keep offering different things. At some point there will be that breakthrough and they will start eating. If your child can eat a french fry or one of those biter biscuits then they can eat solids just fine they just haven't developed a taste for it quite yet. Those jar foods are an aquired taste I am sure. LOL Keep at it, it will happen.

  • My son is almost 11 months, and has some texture issues - so I'm right there with you on the baby food! He NEVER liked rice cereal or stage one foods, but likes things that have a crunch or texture - Gerber Crunchies, cheerios, gold fish (granted, he has 8 teeth). He likes the Stage 3 "casseroles" they make.

  • less formula or breastmilk and offer the formula or breastmilk after offering the solids/baby food.

I'm sorry, but this is wrong! Babies NEED the nutrition from breastmilk or formula. They don't need solid food for nutrition yet. It is for experimentation at this point.
