Why not?

I had a c-section last Monday and I think I've , for the most part, healed from my surgery....
but I was wondering why can't women who have c-sections wear tampons? I absolutely HATE pads and I'm not too clear on the reasoning for holding off on tampon use. Anyone have a clue?

  • Because even if you have a csection your body is still more 'open' and prone to infection.

  • Even after a vaginal birth you aren't supposed to wear a tampon for at least 6 weeks.
