If you get an IUD from one doctor, can you have it removed by another?

I got my Mirena IUD put in by my gyn about eight weeks after my daughter was born. I've had terrible mood swings and I've been unable to lose weight ever since. I want to get it removed. Thing is, I've moved since then. Could I have my new doctor take it out?

  • Yes, that isn't a problem. I had mine taken out while on vacation with in a different state with a different doc.
