Which pads to buy for after delivery?

Not a very important question, but I was at the store yesterday buying giant pads for after I deliver because I heard you bleed very heavily. I got a bunch of different kinds but was wondering what kinds you guys liked the best or work the best. I would like to get them now, so I don't have to make my husband go out and buy them later. Not that he would care.

  • The biggest most absorbent ones possible!!! I don't know what kind I used. but as long as they will absorb alot.. then that's a good thing!

  • I would buy ones with all different absorbincies (sp?). You're not going to be bleeding heavily forever, so make sure you have some medium and light ones too.

  • I bought, for this one, the new always overnights, that look like diapers :-P lol they are in some purple package. With my first I bled for like 6 weeks (after c-section) so, I am just being prepared.

  • Go with the heavy ones if you think you will need them, but I only bleed heavy at the hospital so I used there pads and by the time I got home 2 days later I just used the regular always with wings. I didnt bleed as heavy as most women though so it just depends.

  • so I am guessing that the ulta thin ones are out of the question? lol
I hate pads, haven't worn them since I was 14, so I am not looking forward to having to wear them after delivery

  • I like something thin so I don't feel like I'm wearing a diaper. Besides, I like to change them often because of the smell, so losing the absorbency of a thicker pad isn't an issue. Also something with a more cotton feel, some of them seem kind of plastic like. After having a baby I also get a slightly longer pad than I would normally consider just as a safety precaution.
