Wanna make a bet?

I heard a news report that dealerships are pulling out of the cash for clunkers program because they haven't received funds from the gov't yet. There are tons of paperwork and red tape that have bogged the program down. So who's willing to bet that by the time all the paperwork is done that the final amount will far exceed the amount alloted? Dumbasses!!

  • Just a sign of the times! Everyone KNEW this wouldn't work, INCLUDING him,and yet, he went ahead with it anyway, and now look at the results.

  • We are owed nearly 1 million other dealers in our community are owed about the same or more. We filled out the paperwork correctly double checked it numerous times and still we wait. We were told it could be 6 months. We suspended the program and will not even do it again. This was supposed to help the environment but the only place the cars have ended up have been the landfill. You can't salvage the car it has to be crushed and there are so many of them they had to be hauled off and are now leaking in the landfill. We were able to recycle ours but we worked that out before we agreed to do this program. Many bought other gas guzzlers too. We sold out of our H3's and trucks. So much for this helping the environment.

  • Not only is this bad and not working out financially for those selling the cars...the president signed in another2 Billion dollars with little fan fare a week after they realized the program needed more money then they had allotted. Wonder if thats how HC will work too....And they wonder why MANY don't trust them with HC reform and want them to stop and breathe before they push through some CRAP just so they can say they did!

  • sweet...yea...for how long? Do these jobs count as jobs Obama has "created". I realize that these people are happy to be working again for any length of time but I am SURE they would prefer some stability, and with SO MANY dealers pulling out of this program there will be a surplus of cars not selling and then MORE people will get laid off than before to make up the cost!

For a short time. We laid off three people waiting for our cash for clunkers money. We cannot afford to do this program anymore. We have to pay to recycle the cars too and it is costly. Obama spent what 3 billion (well not really since we are not getting paid we supposedly will someday) to employee 2000k people for a few months? I guess to you that is brilliant to me it is crazy.

  • one thing getting rid of old cars is doing is forcing people to buy the newer cars that have chips in them to control and monitor wheree you drive and how and machnics need used cars they sell them for cheap to the poor besides have you seem some of the cars they are destrying they are NOT Clunkers they are older collector cars that rich people would probaly buy and have somone restore which would help the small mechanics people will see this cash for clunkers thing will backfire
