  • We live pretty close, I'm not sure exactly because we just moved here (Japan), and apparently, because of rip tides and all sorts of stuff we aren't allowed to swim in it here, we have to drive about an hour or two (I think) to go where we can swim.

    But my dh is in the Navy, so we frequently live near the ocean, or the Puget Sound or the Chesapeake, etc. :-)

  • about the same for me too. I live in Maryland and come summer every body here heads down to Ocean City Maryland. I was born and raised here and can honestly say I've been to the islands, and beaches up and down the east coast - just 2 week ago were were at Horseneck Beach in Cape Cod, MA but I've never been to OC, Maryland.

    Not interested - I've heard while it's fun it's too crowded and the water isn't all that clean. I'll pass.

  • 2 hours (Raleigh, NC), but both my parents and my inlaws have places down at the beach so we make that drive all the time!

  • about 40 min from boston harbor but about 1 1/2 hr from cape cod...i dont like the cape its to busy so we go to maine witch is 2 hrs but worth it...
