  • The bill I got from the hospital was near $50,000 for me, around $45,000 for my son, and about $4,500 for my daughter - so about $100,000 for all three of us in 2007. I had a scheduled c-section and we all left the hospital in about 72 hours. Neither baby was in the NICU, but my son did have a test for a possible problem with his heart.

My older daughter was born in an Army hospital, and I got a bill for $19 - no idea what the true cost was.

  • My husband got the Explanation of Benefits from the insurance but to tell you the truth he didn't tell me how much the Insurance pay to the hospital.

  • The hospital sent me an itemized bill (before insurance paid) that totalled about $45,000 for me and my daughter together. But that was with a 10-day stay in the NICU for her.

  • No idea with dd. With ds, I don't remember the exact amount but it was well over $250,000 just for the 2 month stay in the NICU. I'm not sure about my 6week stay (5 before he was born & 1 after) & emergency C-section, since it was billed separately from his NICU stay.

  • about 2,000 dollars but I did a natural delivery and my doctor was there for all of ten minutes so that's how much my insurance paid out.
