  • First thing -- Don't Worry! My kids started walking at 14 mos, 17 mos, and 15 mos. I started to think that the middle child would be crawling at his high school graduation but he did finally start to walk. They were all developmentally on track for everything else -- they just weren't ready to walk. I think they were all such good crawlers that they figured they didn't need to walk . .

  • Most children are walking by now, but not all...my middle DD was lazy, she would walk behind her push toys etc but wouldnt walk by herself...Has she met all other milestones on time, she could be taking her time... My youngest walked at 7 months, my middle about 18 months before she would walk by herself, she is not delayed at all... you can talk to your Dr if you are worried but if she shows no other signs of develpomental issues she should be fine.

  • she has no develomental issues and has met ALL other milestones perfectly, I just think she is being lazy and MOM wants to see her walking!

  • My friend's daughter would not walk. She could stand up in the middle of the room and stay there, she could cruize around, she would just not walk. You knew she could if she wanted to, all the signs were there, but she didn't even like to walk holding your hand. And then one day, at 15 1/2 months, she started and she progressed really fast to running. It should happen. I think they have till 18 months before a doctor will start looking at possible reasons why.
