Do you wash your bananas before you eat them?

My fiance and everyone in his family does this. I find it so strange, nobody I know washes bananas except them : / I mean, you don't eat the skin, you know?

  • I never have. I do wash cantaloupe and stuff like that though, because the knife touches inside and out.

  • Nope. But I could see doing it... there's a lot of people touching those bananas before they make it to your house!

  • I never have. I guess since I don't touch the fruit part itself after I touch the peel I don't feel a need to wash them, but I always feel a need to wash my hands afterwards. Perhaps I should try washing my banananas before peeling and eating?
