I have heard that crawling isn't a milestone and that some babies never crawl so I am not freaking out but I am curious though. My son is scooting around on his belly and when he tries to crawl he goes backwards. So I am curious if he will crawl then? Has anyone else's baby scooted then crawled or did they just walk?

He is wanting to cruise but hasn't gotten the hang of it yet. He will stand when holding onto things for 5 min at a time usually.

I don't know whether to persue teaching him to walk or crawl?

  • It's true that some babies walk before they learn to crawl. But i don't think you should worry. My daughter scooted and crawled backwards for a while before she crawled and now I can't keep up with her. Enjoy your non mobile baby for a while longer LOL. I'm sure he's fine!

  • My DD did'nt crawl she started butt scooting at 9 months then like a month ago she started sleeping on her belly for the first time EVER and she has crawled a few times but she gets around fast butt scooting. She will be walking any day here. She's 15 months tomorrow.
