Why would Obama mislead us?

I ask you to really open your eyes to our president. The person who is supposed to show the moral high ground. He misleads us! He lies to us! He is no better then Bush or Clinton.

Now my Question is not about any ones personal opinion on the subject of the content, but on the fact Obama can not just be HONEST!

  • Well, first of all...he's worse than both Bush and Clinton. Secondly..why does he mislead? People have been misleading and lying for power since the beginning of time. Think about Hitler. He was one of the greatest leaders of all time, technically. Think of how many followed him. Does that mean that he didn't mislead or have bad intentions? People will go to extremes for power, and lying is just the beginning. I never expected Obama to be truthful. he contradicted himself the entire way through the election between what he was saying and his previous voting records. It was actually pretty much out in the open, people simply didn't do their research.

  • Of course he is misleading. He is the master of it. This is the most dishonest and corrupted presidency and congress in history. What he wants to implement would never be supported by the American people if they realize the truth.

  • Putting aside whether or not you agree with his policies, Obama is a politican. Period. Politicans have to "mislead", "tell half the truth", "tell people what they want to hear", or "put a positive spin on things" in order to get elected and get his programs through. Obama ran a brilliant campaign by being a chameleon - he was everything to all people by using vague but inspirational phrases about "change" and "hope." Now, he has to actually govern, which means, make decisions. As soon as a politican makes decisions, he's bound to disappoint some people. Obama's problem is he's still in campaign mode, still vague, still promising everything to everyone, so the message from the White House is often disjointed and "flip flopping". No politican can ever be totally HONEST. The problem is, people believed Obama was going to be the first. Now some are realizing he's another politican.

  • Stephanie, I'll contend that McCain did the exact same thing during his campaign. His words rarely matched his voting record.

The problem here is exactly what Imogen said. Obama, McCain, Bush, Clinton, Bush I, etc. Are ALL politicians. They ALL lie to us. That is what they do.

Unfortunately, it's just the way it is. And until we elect someone who isn't a politician to be our President, they will ALL continue to lie to us.

Now, onto the idea of whether the health care reform is funding abortions... I don't know for sure if it does or it doesn't. I really don't have time to download the 7 reasons why it funds abortion, but I DO know that you CANNOT get all of your information from one source...

  • Anon :50, NO! We will NOT "give it a rest already." That's what apathy does. We will not stand by and watch, or allow, this man to sell our country out. In his arrogance, he may think he can get away with violating the Constitution, but he's going to have one hell of a fight on his hands in the process.  From people who still have love and respect for our country. You need to get over it already, and...GET OUT OF THE WAY!
