christians, what does it mean to be "washed in the blood" ?

  • When we acknowledge Christ has died for our sins, the Lord looks upon us and sees us through the blood of Jesus. Therefore, we are able to be forgiven due the sacrifice Jesus made for us.

  • Both of the above are absolutely correct, but I think you're wanting something a little more specific...maybe this helps, maybe not -- "to be washed in the blood of the lamb" means literally to be saved and then Baptized by immersion to show everyone including yourself, that your old self has now been washed clean by Jesus ' Blood..(the blood He shed for us all on Mt. Calvary), and you've become a new person in HIM... Your past sins have been forgiven and forgotten, and now you will live your life to please God. Let the Bible be your lamppost to guide your paths.....

  • when we believe in God and accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, then we are "washed int he blood" of calvary its a spiritual occurrence not an actual bloodbath
