  • I was a majorette in high school and we wore tiny uniforms with no underwear...so we HAD to learn to use tampons....or be be totally embarrassed when a pad came flying out during our kickline...lol

i cant stand wearing a pad....feels wet and like a diaper......tampons feel so much more cleaner. So I would allow a teen to use them about age 16 or so....

I started my period about age 12 and I think that is too young, need to be a bit grown up....not a baby.

  • i have always used pads...mostly cause i had a scare as a teenager with a tampon that wouldnt come out....it was very embarrassing! I asked my daughter just recently if she wanted to try tampons so she could go swimming but she refused....lol But if there comes a day she wants to thats perfectly fine with me!

  • i use pads because thats what my mom uses, but she did say i could use tampons if i want, but she told me to be really careful cause if you leave a tampon in for too long you could get sick, which scared me when i was younger so ive always used pads. when i have a daughter, i will probably tell her about both and let her choose which one she wants to use.

  • I use tampons, pretty much always have. I had to use pads last month, b/c I broke my ankle and wasn't sure I could manuver enough for a tampon, and it drove me up the wall. I felt so unclean, was constantly using baby wipes to clean up, and just hated it. To each their own, but I just don't see how someone can want to use pads.

  • Tampons, hands down. Clean, no odor, out of sight out of mind.

  • I use tampons. I started when I was 16. I was very scared, but it was fine. LOL! My daughter is only 5 months old, but I think I will let her use tampons if she asks.

  • I use both. I can't use tampons if I'm having bad cramps--they just make the cramps worse. On the other hand, once my cramps subside, I'd rather use a tampon, except at night. I've never used them overnight--I think that's too long to have one in.

  • both, when i had just started to have my period when i was 14 i was too scared to use a tampon but i leaked once in school and ever since then i've been a tampon girl, lol, it was mortifying, but i like to have a little panty liner as backup just in case there is a small leak, after i had my daughter and coudln't use tampons, obviously, it drove me nuts i was worried i would leak all the time.. and it just felt so .. ick.. i will definitely give my daughter the choice when she starts.. it's whatever makes you comfortable..
