I know this may sound strange, but have anyone heard that you are not to let women who are on their menstrual period hold you newborn until they are older. If so why?

  • Total old wives tales and ridiculous - no truth to it whatsoever!

  • Hmm...I've never heard that one! I'm sure it's an old wives tale...what would be the reasoning behind that....??

  • It is an old wives tale..one version of it states that allowing a menstruating woman hold a newborn before the cord fell of it could make the cord bleed. It is absolutely garbage and means nothing.

  • What are mothers supposed to do? Hire someone else to take care of their babies because they are mensutrating? That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while.
