Have you noticed that on pregnancy sites and such, they always show a nice, smooth pregnant belly that is flawless in every way?

Where's the stretch marks? lol.
It's kind of like a celeb magazine, but with pregnancy.
Shouldn't they be more realistic? Now saying eliminating it completely, because some people don't get stretch marks, but still. You get the point.

  • I'm ok with pretty bellies, I'm sure its airbrushed, but at least they are real... I was lucky, no stretch marks... what chaps my butt is when they model pregnancy clothes in a size 2 model with a fake belly... skinny legs, skinny arms and a cute fake bump. I want to see real preggers in clothes, not that crap...cause lets face it, your entire body looks pregnant, not just your tummy, lol.

  • No magazine out there is realistic. I'd be surprised if 1% of the photos are not touched-up afterward.

  • This is why I refuse to read magazines. Well, not everyone is pregnant in every magazine, but the magazines refusing to put real actual pictures. Or why even put people in the pictures at all? Like the hand bag advertisements. Why is there a model in a really weird postion, wearing weird clothes, weird lighting, and a weird look on her face while holding/standing next to a handbag? I don't really see the point in that. I get the artistic factor, but that won't make me buy the bag.

  • God, I had three massive pregnancies, and now five years later, my stomach below my belly button still pooches out from hip to hip and has more stretchmarks than a road map! I gained under 40 pounds with each, but I carried a basketball below my waist.

It's all genetics and the elasticity in your skin. I don't have good skin genes, so I look like crap below my bellybutton. (I'd say waist, but I totally lost my waist after my pregnancies!)

  • yeah ive noticed. i think the ppl who make maternity clothes also think nothing gets bigger but our bellys. i tried on Walmart maternity clothes when i was at my largest (i need something cheap to wear) and i couldnt get my arms in them!! they were plenty large enough everywhere else tho.
