My husband and me are doing "Iron Chef" kinda dinners and I need some different or interesting ideas for the secret ingredient.

  • That sounds kinda fun! I'm sure you grab meats all the time, but maybe try a can of beans or something. Or to be crazy buy something that neither of you have ever ate, like collards (if your from the north). Do you have those in the north? LOL Or Fat back, or a ham hock. If you live in the south, try something from the north like differant grains or something healthy.

  • How fun!

    I would use ingredients that can be eaten raw or cooked: kale, spinach, banana; something very versitle, like lentils, chickpeas or tofu;

  • A new grain like couscous, or maybe a fruit to be used in the main meal, how about a seafood item like scallops, crab meat, or shrimp? Dates or figs, or maybe a fresh herb that you've never tried??

    Couscous is a pasta. Quinoa, barley and rice are grains.
