  • I don't have a daughter either but I do have a 4 year old son who loves action figures. I let him choose which action figure he wants. I would never even dare to not let him get a toy just because it wasn't our race. That's being ignorant. Race is all around us and it should be accepted in all forms. If your daughter wants a doll the color should not matter. It's what she likes that matters.

  • We are white, but I intentionally bought by daughter a black doll; she has a white one too.

  • It's her choice. She can choose whatever doll she wants.

  • I have 2 daughters. 1 with light skin & red hair. 1 with darker skin & brown hair. DH played a game with a claw that picks up toys. He got identical dolls except 1 had light skin & 1 had dark skin. We gave the dolls to the girls and told them that in those words. We did not call the dolls black and white. The light skinned girl got the light skinned doll. The darker skinned girl got the darker skinned doll. Once, the redhead called the other doll black. I said her skin doesn't look black to me. It's just darker than your doll's. I got a piece of paper and said your doll's skin doesn't look white either. I put the paper against her arm and said 'look at that! Your skin isn't white!" She thought that was real funny and never labeled her dolls again. People either. I don't see what difference it makes. A doll is a doll. Skin color doesn't matter.

  • They can get whatever they want. So far they have only picked dolls that look like them..light skin and light eyes. They do have Barbies/Bratz of all different colors and ethnic looks (some I had when I was a kid).
