*Christians only please* What does the bible say about what happens after you die?

*Christians* I read this in another question in which I wish to stay out of. I have never really thought about after life in the Bible. I know there is an entire story about the resurrection.

***PLEASE HAVE RESPECT AND LET THE CHRISTIANS ANSWER THIS FOR ME***

  • The Bible says, "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." This applies only to those who die in Christ. In other words, when a believer dies, that person goes immediately in to the presence of God. Nobody knows for sure where that is, but if God is there, it doesn't really matter.

  • To answer "what happens..." depends on whether a person has accepted, or rejected Jesus Christ before they die. If they've accepted Him as their personal Savior, they're "born-again" and will go to heaven when they die. If they've rejected Him, to the point of death, they will be eternally separated from Him.  The Bible says they'll be cast into the lake of fire along with satan, the Antichrist and all their followers.

  • When we die BEFORE God comes, the same thing happens to both the saved and the lost. We are dead, we don't know anything, in a state of sleep if you will. But we are not actually sleeping but Jesus gives us that example cause just as when we sleep we are unaware and not conciouse to our surroundings same goes for those in death. But when those who die after the oming of God, they will be no more. Teir body AND soul will be destroyed and they will be no more. If you die and are saved then you awaken to die/sin never more :)

  • ecc 9:5-6

5For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

6Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

  • Mark 12:24-27 Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage: they will be like the angels in heaven. Now about the dead rising---have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"
