Hamburger Helper. Do you add stuff (spices, etc) to make it better?

My DH hates the stuff and a friend gave us several boxes. I am going to make the cheesy enchilada tonight and I'm curious if you add anything to your HH to make it your own or to make it taste better?

  • I season the hamburger with garlic, onions and Lawry's season salt. I agree with skipping the "cheese sauce" and use shredded cheese at the end. Serve with sour cream, tortilla chips and a salad.

  • If it comes with a "cheese" topping...set it aside and use it on popcorn...it's like the fake powder crap in cheap mac n cheese and substitute real cheese...I also use tortilla chips and salsa & sour cream.

  • You could add a can of corn, drained. Or salsa.
