Is being on welfare a career?

Ok I know this is going to start alot of trouble. But, my fiance has a 3 yr old son with an ex and we have a 2 yr old daughter now the problem is we live in ohio (wHat a wonderfull state.. NOT!!!) and his ex has 3 kids all with different dads. She collects about 1400 a month in child support alone and doesnt work. And she doesnt pay rent for her house nor does she have to buy food because of the amount of food stamps she gets. Now you tell me something is wrong here. Meanwhile my fiance makes 8 bucks an hr and pays 400 a month in child support. So to all you ladies out there doing this get off your lazy behinds and get a real job PLEASE!!!! Oh yea and of course we cant get any help whatsoever bc he makes to much. So ladies tell me, Am I in the wrong buisness or what?

  • The system is seriously flawed. It helps people who do not need it and declines the people who do.

  • Food Stamps, Medicaid, all that is lumped in together as welfare or PA. None of which she should be getting if she is getting $1400 a month to support her children.

  • My BF has to pay child support and back support for a kid he didn't even know about until he was already a year old. (one night stand) SHE is on welfare, she gets money from the state, from her 4 kids' dads (3 with one man, one with MY man). food stamps, low income housing (same thing, where she doesn't pay a dime). She DOES collect welfare money, which MY MAN is paying back because the welfare is "for the kids." So, I hear ya, sister. We work our BUTTS off to be where we are.

Oh, and PS, we are starting to file the papers to have custody of him, you may want to try the same...
