Why is it bugs that come out at night are attracted to light?

Wouldn't it be logical for them to come out during the day? Hasn't anyone told them yet that it get daylight at some point and they have all the light they need? Just curious...lol.

  • Some bugs come out during the night because they are nocturnal, however most bugs come out at night and hang around the lights because it's warm there for them, and there are larger bugs that will hang out around the light just to eat the smaller bugs. I have a porch lite and i've even had a snake hanging off of it before just to eat the darn pesky bugs!
