13yr old girl wants to sail around the world alone

Her parents are fighting the Dutch Coucil for Child Protection to let her launch her dream of becoming the youngest solo sailor to circumnavigate the globe. What parent in their right mind would allow this?

  • obviously, the parents ARE NOT in their right minds. So, the question is!

Imagine how they will feel is something terrible happens to their daughter. I bet she will have some kind of boat near by though keeping an eye out.

  • Why not let her go. I'm sure she's trained and prepared to go. If she dies, she'll die happy, knowing she gave it her best. IF she fails, she can still say she tried.

  • I won't even let my daughter go to Disneyland with her troop. No freaking way.
