is is benifetial for me to get a lawyer when trying to apply for chils ssi?

my 6yo son has a DX of mild to moderate mental intellectual disability and also adhd

  • From what I understand, you have to be denied by ssi 2 times before you can get a lawyer to work for you. Apply, it takes forever, and see what happens. If they deny it, apply again, I know, it takes forever again. If they deny it again, then get a lawyer.

  • I applied for ssi for my son and got it on the first time, it's not so hard - he has moderate/severe autism
